On Earth Day, President Trump reminded us what true energy leadership looks like: It means backing American energy, American jobs, and American innovation. And nowhere is that more visible than right here in the Bayou State. With power demand growing at a staggering rate, America needs all the energy it can get, and an all-of-the-above strategy is critical.

Fortunately, Louisiana doesn’t just keep up with other states when it comes to energy. We lead. With companies like Hyundai and CF Industries investing in clean hydrogen and ammonia, our state is quickly becoming the launch pad for the next energy revolution. These aren’t science fair projects. These are billion-dollar facilities producing clean fuels that will power global shipping, decarbonize agriculture, and create thousands of jobs—right here at home. This investment also gives us a significant advantage over foreign adversaries like China, which are also investing in new hydrogen capabilities.

What makes this possible? We’re leveraging our formidable energy skillset and workforce to utilize cutting-edge technologies like carbon capture & storage (CCS), which safely and permanently stores CO2 emissions deep underground while keeping operations running strong. Innovation like CCS is clean, effective, and makes Louisiana more competitive on a global scale.

In certain circumstances, smart tax policies can catalyze new investments in hydrogen and CCS. This is no different than tax policies enabling investment in innovative technologies such as horizontal hydraulic fracturing. A modicum of strategy can make technologies economically feasible and pay dividends to Louisianians.

President Trump gets it. His administration is all in on hydrogen, carbon capture and other energy innovations—not for the sake of an ideology, but because they work. They’re the foundation of a future where American energy production & manufacturing wins, and where Louisiana plays a starring role.

At Conservatives for Clean Energy Louisiana, we’re proud to support this vision. Clean doesn’t mean weak. In Louisiana, it means secure, reliable, affordable and 100% American-made energy.
