Editorial policy
How Louisiana Policy Review reports, corrects and publishes.
Independence
Our editors decide what we cover and how. Advertisers, sponsors and partners do not review or approve stories before publication, and advertising decisions are kept separate from editorial ones.
Accuracy and sourcing
We work to get the facts right and to attribute them clearly. We link to or name the documents, data and people we rely on wherever we can. We use anonymous sources only when the information is important and can’t be obtained on the record, and we explain why a source was granted anonymity.
Corrections
When we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and say so. Corrections of substance are noted at the end of the story with the date of the change. To report an error, contact the newsroom with the headline and what needs fixing.
News, analysis and opinion
News and analysis appear in their subject sections. Opinion pieces and letters to the editor are published in the Opinion and Letters sections, are clearly labeled, and carry the writer’s name. Views expressed in opinion pieces and letters are the writers’ own.
Republished and partner content
Some stories are republished with permission from partner outlets. These are credited at the top of the story (for example, “Via The Hayride”) and link back to the original where available.
Letters to the editor
Letters must include the writer’s full name, which we publish. We verify letters before publication and may edit for length, clarity and accuracy. See our letter guidelines.
Use of technology
We may use software tools, including AI tools, to help with research, transcription and drafting. Our editors review everything before it’s published and are responsible for what appears on the site.
Advertising and sponsorship
Ads are clearly marked as advertising. Sponsored content, when we run it, is labeled as sponsored and is not presented as news. Questions about advertising? Contact our advertising team.
