Following a recent fly-in to Washington, D.C., where Conservatives for Clean Energy Louisiana and others from the Conservative Energy Network met with lawmakers to discuss the future of American energy, one thing is clear: the clean energy incentives in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) are working, and we need to defend them.
These policies are already driving investment in energy innovation, reducing costs for consumers, and creating high-quality jobs across Louisiana. From new projects that utilize carbon capture and produce clean hydrogen, communities across our state are seeing real, tangible benefits.
We especially thank the conservative leaders who recognize the value of these market-based tools in strengthening energy security and domestic manufacturing. The tax credits in the IRA and IIJA support American businesses, not foreign supply chains, and offer a smart return on investment by catalyzing private-sector growth.
Rolling back or undermining these credits would hurt the very communities that are starting to see the promise of energy resilience, economic development, and innovation take root. It’s critical that our elected officials stand strong in protecting these commonsense energy solutions.
Clean energy is not a partisan issue, it’s a practical one. Let’s keep the momentum going for a more secure, reliable, affordable, American energy future.
Sincerely,
Will Hardy
